THE BENEFITS OF GOOD SLEEP

The importance of good sleep. Breastfeeding Matters

Babies and children need good sleep in order to aid growth and brain development. Recent studies have shown that good sleep improves children's appetites, enhances their intellectual ability and lifts their mood.

Good sleep is vital for parents. Tiredness effects mood, the ability to cope with parenting and also the ability to function during the day. Tiredness can also affect family functioning and relationships.

Good sleep is vital for siblings. Being kept awake or woken up by disruptive younger siblings with poor sleep patterns, can result in siblings becoming tired and unable to cope well with daily activities, school work and relationships.

Learning good sleep habits at an early age is a vital skill for life!
